2021 FWNLL Volunteers Needed

Spring is just around the corner, it is once again time for the great American tradition of Little League Baseball, Softball and Challenger. This spring, Federal Way National Little League is facing a new and challenging situation. There is a desperate need for more involvement from adult volunteers to serve on the board for our Little League.

The Board has faced a few challenges this year including many valued members moving away, or resigning due to other commitments, employment demands or personal situations.

While there is a certain amount of commitment accompanying the board member position, there is also a sense of accomplishment and reward to witness the joys of children playing America's great pastime here in Federal Way.

Our local Little League needs members willing to act in the positions of field supervisors, umpire coordinators, player agents, concession stand managers and field preparations supervisors. We are also seeking people interested in the off-field positions of division directors, field maintenance, umpires, and at-large board members.

There is a strong desire in the community to have children play Baseball, Softball and Challenger, but we need adults who are willing to volunteer to guide our children during their time in our Little League program. Our desire is to keep Little League a reality in Federal Way, not merely let it slip into a dream that we have for our children.

Federal Way has supported Little League for the past 60 years. We look forward to keeping this great program alive and healthy with your help, our community members.

Please consider volunteering, regardless of your age, gender, or physical abilities. You do not need to have children involved in the program to be a great member of Little League. Please contact a Charles Heitman president@fwnll.org prior to the general membership meeting if you are interested in volunteering to keep our youth baseball programs alive and vibrant.

Thank you to all who have supported Little League programs as parents, residents and Baseball, Softball and Challenger fans.

2020 Season Information
Dear FWNLL Families,

The Covid-19 situation in the world is an unprecedented time for all of us. It has affected all of us in our jobs, in our children's education, and it has affected sports at every level across the world. We, at Federal Way National Little League, believe that we will get through this stronger as a community and Little League family. The changes to the phased reopening for our state by Governor Inslee and the continued rise in Covid-19 infections has resulted in an unfortunate, but necessary decision to be made. The FWNLL Board of Directors have decided it is in the best interest of our little league families that we cancel the Spring into Fall 2020 season. During this time, we know that athletics and activities are incredibly important to our kids and to the adults coaching and leading them, but more importantly is the health and safety of every individual in our community.

With this decision to cancel the season, we want to offer families options of what they can do with their registration fees already paid to play the 2020 season. We are offering three options of what you can do with your registration fees:

  1. Roll over to 2021 - Any player registration fees paid to play the 2020 season will be carried over and applied towards your registration fees to play the 2021 season
  2. Donate your registration fee - Federal Way National Little League is a federally recognized non-profit organization and your donation is a fully deductible charitable contribution for your 2020 tax return
  3. Request a refund - Request a refund of your registration fees
Click on your preference above to start an email on how you want your registration fees handled, include in the email your player name(s) and current address if refund is requested. You can also just email refund@fwnll.org with your choice.

In the meantime, please continue to encourage your players to get outside to play catch and be ready when the season starts.

During this time, please understand that our complex is closed and off limits to anyone. No one is allowed inside the complex during the shutdown for any baseball or softball related activities. No one is permitted on the complex grounds during this time except required maintenance volunteers approved by the board. Please refrain from coming to the complex until you are notified by FWNLL that we are opening for the season.

Thank you for your continued support in the growth of our league and players and being a part of our extended baseball/softball family. We hope that you all are staying safe during this time and we look forward in seeing everyone for the 2021 Spring Season.
