Dear FWNLL Volunteer Coaches,

First, allow me to thank you for your service to our little league. The donation of your time to our young players is admirable and perhaps the most vital component to a league that has been successful from top to bottom for many years. Whatever success that players experience at the highest levels of our little league can be traced directly back to you and others that have made the same sacrifices.

Thank you also for taking the time to explore our website and this new section for coaches. The entire FWNLL board believes strongly that this will be a valuable tool for you, and one that has been perhaps overdue. The purpose of it is not necessarily to prescribe every move that you make as coach of your team. That isn't possible, nor is it necessary. Rather, our hope is that it will both better establish and communicate some fundamental principles that will benefit your players in the now and also in the future as they grow and move up through the FWNLL.

You will find that some information contained in the handbook is universal, meaning that it can be applied no matter the age group that you are coaching. In other cases, you will find that we have prescribed certain things specific to particular age groups. In still other cases, you will need to use your judgment in deciding what is appropriate for your players and what they need. Given that this is the first time that we have produced a tool such as this one, we welcome your feedback. Please let your division director or me know if you have suggestions on how it could be improved for future years.
